Editorial approach

Hints are written to move from gentle direction to explicit answer only when the reader chooses to reveal more.

The goal is to preserve the solving moment, not replace it.

How we verify daily puzzle data

Daily puzzle records move through draft, verified, and published states. Only published records are eligible for indexing, archive links, and sitemap entries.

The workflow is: fetch the puzzle date and number, validate the full answer set, cross-check against a second source when available, write progressive hints from the verified answer, then publish.

Connections records require the date, puzzle number, source URL, verified time, verifier, four groups, one clue word per group, complete answers, and explanations.

Wordle records require the date, puzzle number, answer, vowel count, repeated-letter status, first letter, definition, verified time, verifier, and source notes.

If verification fails or is incomplete, the page stays out of the archive and sitemap instead of showing placeholder groups or simulated answers.

Corrections

Corrections should include the puzzle type and date so the record can be checked against the same source used for publication.

When a correction is accepted, the visible verified time and updated time should change with the content.
